Information we collect

Depending on the Antur features you use, we may collect:

• Account and contact details, such as your name, email address and account preferences.
• Adventure and location data, including routes, start and expected return times, live or recent device location, and progress during a tracked activity.
• Safety contact information, such as the name and contact details of a person you choose to receive tracking information or a late-back alert.
• Device and technical data, including device type, operating system, app version, identifiers, IP address, notification settings, crash information and diagnostic logs.
• Messages and support information you send when contacting us.

The website does not currently ask you to create an account or submit a form, and it does not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. Our hosting provider may process basic server logs, including IP address, browser type, requested pages, and the date and time of a visit.

How we use information

We use personal information to:

• provide live tracking, route recording and late-back alert features;
• share activity information with the people you choose;
• send essential service, safety and account notifications;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Antur;
• respond to questions and support requests; and
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or use precise location data for advertising.

Location data and permissions

Antur requires access to your device location for tracking features to work. When you start a tracked adventure, location data may be collected while the app is in the foreground or background, depending on the permissions you grant. You can change location and notification permissions in your device settings, although doing so may prevent tracking or alerts from working correctly.

Antur is a tracking and communication aid. It is not a substitute for appropriate preparation, navigation equipment, emergency services or your own judgement.

Our legal bases

Under UK data-protection law, we process information where it is necessary to provide the service you request, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing Antur, where we must comply with the law, or where you have given consent. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

When we share information

We may share information:

• with the safety contacts or other people you deliberately choose to share an adventure with;
• with suppliers that provide hosting, mapping, notifications, analytics, communications and technical support on our behalf;
• where reasonably necessary to protect somebody’s vital interests or safety; or
• where required by law, a court or a regulator, or as part of a business sale or reorganisation.

Service providers may only use information to deliver services to us and must protect it appropriately.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including providing your account and activity history, resolving disputes, maintaining security and meeting legal requirements. Retention periods vary according to the type of information and why it is held. You may ask us to delete your account and associated information, subject to any information we must retain by law.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No online service can, however, guarantee complete security.

International transfers

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use safeguards recognised under UK data-protection law, such as adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.

Cookies and website data

The current website does not set cookies. If we introduce analytics, optional cookies or other website technologies, we will update this policy and request consent where required. Basic hosting logs are used to keep the website secure and reliable.

Children

Antur is not intended for children to use independently. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, please contact us so we can investigate and take suitable action.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law, you may have the right to ask for access to or a copy of your information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. You may also withdraw consent and complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

These rights are not absolute and may depend on the circumstances. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Antur develops. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the date of the most recent change shown above.
